Dr Joe Maelane
B.Sc. (University of Fort Hare), MBBCh (Wits), Diploma in Management Advancement Programme (Wits Business School).
Dr Maelane has been a family practitioner in Soweto for the past twenty years. He has been the National Chairperson of the South African Medical and Dental Practitioners Association, a Section 21 Company from 1989 to date. He is the executive director of the investment wing of the SAMDP, the SAMDP Group Holdings.
Maelane is the former National Chairperson of the South African Medical and Dental Forum. This forum united all Medical and Dental Professions in our country. He is also the former chairperson of a Crisis Committee that was formed in conjunction with COSATU, Nursing Crisis, SANCO, National Black Consumer Committee Union (NBCU) and SAMDP. This committee was formed to address the National Nursing Crisis in the country. He is a former executive member of the International Medical Exchange (IMEC).
His community involvement includes being the Executive Director of Multi-Project Youth Development in Soweto since 1990, the President of Alfred Maqubela Soweto Sport Complex and Former Executive Member of Mpilonhle Community Clinic Project, Bekkersdal, Westonaria. He is the Chairperson: Board of Trustees in Ikwezi Development Project (Soweto).Dr Maelane is married with three children. Dr Maelane is also the Chairperson of Golden Pond.
Dr Samson Tshabangu
Dr Samson Tshabangu qualified as a medical doctor at the Nelson Mandela Medical School and worked in both the private and public sector in Gauteng.
Dr Tshabangu was a founding shareholder of Kwacha Group Holdings which pioneered healthcare industry for Blacks with the creation of Lesedi Hospital in Soweto and Sizwe Medical Administrators which he served as chairman and director over 10 years. Dr Tshabangu has played an important role in the IPA movement and was founding director of Soweto IPA, SP Net and engagement with healthcare stakeholders including healthcare founders and pharmaceutical industry and regulators including engagement with government.
He is founding member SAMDP and is serving as Executive directors including a director of SGH and its subsidiaries SAMDP Networks. He has established networks in Francophone West African countries and Nigeria. He served on the board of the Mx Health group and its sister companies as director of Knowledge Objects Healthcare (KOH).He also serves on various BEE companies with investment in Phumelele Gaming and petroleum companies as well as MTN and Cell C.
Dr Nkateko David Munisi
Born 19 June 1966, married with 3children. He completed MBBCH at Wits in 1992. He is operating family practices in the East Rand in partnership since 1996 to date. He is the treasurer of SAMDP and an Executive Director of SP Net a National GP Network since 2002.
He is also a Director in SAMDP Group Holdings (PTY) LTD. He is a Chairperson for the hospital board at Bertha Gxowa Hospital. Since 2007 he is also the Chairman of the Medical panel at Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (EPPF). He loves the outdoors and this he is a keen hiker and loves a good braai.
Dr Lekopane Mogaladi
Dr Lekopane Mogaladi is the CEO of the Far East Rand Hospital, which is a public hospital in Springs, Ekurhuleni. He is a dentist by profession. Studied at Medunsa and Wits respectively where he completed the Bachelor of Dental therapy and Bachelor of Dental Science. He is a member of SAMDP since graduating in 1998. He established private practices and worked in Mohlakeng (Randfontein), Sebokeng, Brits, Bekkersdal, Benoni and Marble Hall. Dr Mogaladi also held a position as secretary of the Dental Professional Association (DPA) and is also a member of the Executive Committee of the SAMDP. He is also a founder member of Gauteng ANC doctors Forum. Dr Mogaladi is also a director of SGH. Since joining the public sector in 2010 Dr Mogaladi assisted in turning the Far East Rand Hospital resulting in it winning the Most Improved Hospital According to National Core Standards in Ekurhuleni.
